Dimmitt Contemporary Art is pleased to present TEXAS MADE, a group exhibition at our Houston location featuring new works by Texas-based artists B Shawn Cox, Sarah Ferguson, Randal Ford, Kristin Moore, John Holt Smith and Michael von Helms. The exhibition will be on view from Thursday, March 14th through Friday, April 5th.
B Shawn Cox (b.1972 Lubbock, Texas) is an Austin-based multimedia artist whose diverse work has been exhibited and collected throughout the United States in both private and corporate collections. He has degrees in Architecture and Law but has maintained and developed an evolving art practice for over 30 years.
Sarah Ferguson (b.1973 Boulder, Colorado) is an Austin-based artist who has experimented with the trifecta of light, color and perception for two decades. She received her BFA from St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas and her work is included in private and corporate collections, both in the United States and abroad.
Randal Ford (b.1981 Dallas, Texas) is an Austin-based photographer whose works have appeared in two monographs published by Rizzoli, on the cover of Time Magazine, Texas Monthly and Communication Arts. His animal photographs were awarded 1st place and best of show in the fine art category in the prestigious International Photo Awards competition.
Kristin Moore (b.1990 Houston, Texas)is a Dallas-based artist who holds an MFA from Otis College of Art & Design in Los Angeles and a BA in Art from St. Edward's University in Austin. Kristin's paintings can be found in collections across the globe. Solo exhibitions include Jonathan Ferrara Gallery in New Orleans, Commerce Gallery in Lockhart, St. Edward's University in Austin, and Bolsky Gallery in Los Angeles.
John Holt Smith (b.1968 Fort Worth, Texas) is a Fort Worth-based artist who received his BFA from University of California in Santa Barbara, California. His work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in New York, California and Fort Worth, and is held in public collections including Neiman Marcus and the DFW Airport as well as private collections throughout the United States.
Michael von Helms (b.1939 Bryn Mar, Pennsylvania) is a Houston-based artist who works in the tradition of non-figurative abstract expressionism. His work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in Houston, Dallas and Santa Fe and his work is held in private and corporate collections, both in the United States and abroad.
