RUTH BORGENICHT

BIOGRAPHY

Ruth Borgenicht’s work is filled with paradoxes. From afar it is reminiscent of the chain mail armor used for protection during battle, but upon closer inspection one is caught by surprise. The artist’s creations are highly fired ceramics, made of a material that is simultaneously strong, inflexible and fragile. Recently she has branched out and used other themes and techniques.

Her work can be found in different collections. Borgenicht has had exhibitions in several museums around the world, amongst others the Sevres Museum in Paris, France and Cheongju Museum, South
Korea.

Borgenicht holds a BA in Mathematics, Rutgers College and a MFA Montclair State University, USA. She lives and works in Glen Ridge, NJ, USA.
